1.What is biofloc...?
Ans: Biofloc is a method to cultivate fishes intensively... Biofloc literally means flocculation of live particles... Treating excess Nitrogen in the pond by manipulating Carbon - Nitrogen ratio
2.What will be the benifits of biofloc than conventional methods..?
Ans: More productivity from unit area with identical growth and better Feeding efficiency..
3.What types of fishes are more suitable...?
Ans: Fishes with high tolerance against solids can be reared in biofloc...
4. how many fishes we can reared in biofloc system..
Ans: In Aquaculture we say the stocking density in Kg per m3 instead of Numbers....
25 kg per M3 for water DO breathing fishes like Tilapia, Carp varieties etc ,
For Atmospheric Air Breathing fishes like Anabus, Cat Fishes etc this can be increased to 50 kg per M3
5.what is FCR...?
Ans: FCR means feed conversion ratio,that is the amount of dry feed needed to produce 1 kg of wet Fish.. [75 % of fish body is occupied by water]
6. What all are types of bacterias residing in biofloc...?
Ans: There are three types of bacterias mainly concerned...
Photoautotrophs, chemo autotrophs, Heterotrophs.. We prefer domination of Heterotrophic bacterias...CN ratio will decide the domination...
7.somebody is using probiotics for biofloc, some one is not... Why..?
Ans: to start biofloc probiotics is not mandatory... But using probiotic will increase immunity in some fishes... And more control can be achieved...

8.What is Carbon Nitrogen Ratio...?
Ans: The bacterial cell is made of Carbon and Nitrogen... Nitrogen is readily available in the water as ammonia... Carbon we have to add further [more than 10 times] to produce cells... [or use low protein feed with CN ratio above 10...]
9. What is alkalinity...?
Ans: Alkalinity is measure of water to nutalize acids..
It should be kept above 100 ppm by using alkaline substance or Denitrification...
10.Will nitrification be happened in biofloc...?
Ans: Yes...biofloc will be a mix of both Autotrophic and Heterotrophic bacterias.... So nitrification will happen..
11.Why some biofloc systems are green and some are brown...?
Ans: That is because of dominations according to CN ratio..
At low CN ratio algae will dominates...[green water]
At high CN ratio Heterotrophic bacteria will dominates [brown water]
12.Plz explain about your system.. ?
Ans: This Tank having 25 m3 capacity,
Now around 3500 fishes in it...
There is drain at the bottom of this tank..
That is connected to this settling tank..
Then clear water will exit through airlift Pump.. This will remove nitrate, regenerate alkalinity,reduce water wastage etc...
13. What will be total cost for this project...?
Ans: Around 1,25000 rs without power back up...
