In this video, I take you through my recent experience painting a Heretic Trooper for my Trench Crusade Warband. This quick and simple scheme is perfect for painters of all skill levels. Since no airbrush is required, it’s especially helpful for those who want to learn new techniques without the need for specialised equipment. The result is a fantastic tabletop-standard, grimdark aesthetic—ideal for the gritty world of Trench Crusade! This method is also versatile and will work great on other miniatures, such as the new Warhammer 40K Death Korps of Krieg.
Throughout the video, I demonstrate key techniques, including layering, stippling, edge highlighting, the use of oil paints and special effects to achieve a convincing grimdark look.
