Okay, here we go! As promised, here is the video tutorial on making placemats. I am really new to doing this, and I haven’t done anything fancy here, but it should make sense. Sorry for a few instances of poor lighting, a shaking camera, or weird angles…I’m learning! (Apparently I should have taken a class on video production during college, lol. 😉)
Materials Needed (for 8 placemats):
- 40 jelly rolls strips
- 8 fat quarters of coordinating fabric
- Needled cotton batting, cut to 19” x 13” (I used Warm & White)
- 5 packages extra wide, double fold bias tape in coordinating color
- Thread
- Scissors, pins, iron, rotary cutter and mat (optional)
- Spring loaded quilting foot (sometimes called a ¼” foot) is helpful if you have one!
(I've added some of these materials to my Amazon store, listed below)
Finished mat dimension will be 18.5” x 12.5”, or whatever size you choose to trim yours down to. Good luck and leave any comments or questions down below! I’ll be back next weekend for a regular update and to hold the giveaway for the jelly rolls, so be sure to go check out my last video and enter if you haven’t yet!
Thanks for watching!
