It has been 11 months since I made a video titled "Teachers are (Not) okay" where I explain how I had been pushed to step away from being a public school teacher despite my love for it. In that video I focused in on the systemic issues, and now, after having had a lot of time to think, and reflect, I'm coming back to look at my personal reasons for having to quit being a teacher.
Chapters:
0:00 Why I quit teaching
1:00 Moral Injury and Cognitive Dissonance
3:02 Teachers never last, and that's not normal
4:55 The immoral contradictions I couldn't take
11:13 Contradiction is a part of life, and public education...
15:08 But should it have to be that way?
