About artists
PRAVEEN HUGAR
born in a musical family. He is a young and talented sitar artist. Initially he began his musical Journey under the tutelage of his father Shri Gurusangappa Hugar, a well-known Tabla artist and he hails from the parampara of Sitar Ratna Rahimat Khan of Indore -Dharwad Gharana. He is the disciple of Ustad Shafique Khan , sixth generation Khandani Sitarist , an international performer and A-Top artist of Akashvani and
Doordarshan.

born on 06.04.2006 at Dharwad-Karnataka,
in Music Family. (Father Sri Venugopal Joshi and Mother Smt Veena Joshi, Vocalists, and are disciples of Late. Pt.Vasantrao Kadnekar, Goa). He expressed inclination towards Tabla at the tender age of 8 months, He started learning at
the age of 2 under the guidance of Sri. Satish Hegde Ji, at Goa, where Hemant had started his Tabla journey. After few years Hemant started learning under the tutelage of Sri.Srivatsa Kowlgi (disciple of Pt.Sri.Ravindra Yavagal, Bangalore). Raag Charukeshi
Raag Charukeshi is a captivating and versatile raga that belongs to the Karnatak (Carnatic) music system but is also used in Hindustani music. It evokes deep emotions, often associated with devotion, longing, or introspection.

Thaat (Parent Scale): Kafi (in Hindustani)
Melakarta (Carnatic Parent Raga): 26th Melakarta
Arohana (Ascent): Sa Re Ga Ma Pa d n Sa
Avarohana (Descent): Sa n d Pa Ma Ga Re Sa
Vadi (Most Important Note): Dha
Samvadi (Second Most Important Note): Ga
Musical Features:
Mood/Emotion: Evokes pathos (karuna rasa), devotion (bhakti), and sometimes a sense of yearning.
Time of Performance: Late evening or night.
Nature: It is a sampoorna raga (all seven notes present) and is close to the natural minor scale in Western music.
Similar Ragas: Nat bhairav share some similarities.
Usage in Hindustani & Carnatic Music:
In Hindustani music, it is occasionally used but is not as prominent as in Carnatic music.
In Carnatic music, it is widely used in compositions and improvisations.
