Again a very special and exciting Moselle section.
First, we want to and must pay a visit to Trier, which proudly calls itself the oldest city in Germany, and at least through the Porta Nigra, the Black Gate, admire the historic buildings on the market square and visit the cathedral, as well as the Church of Our Lady.
Of course we can not visit all interpretive monuments and sights in Trier, that would go beyond the time frame of our bike ride.
So we continue our MoselRadtour direction Konz. Konz is also known by the Saarmündung in the Moselle, a very special spectacle. From Konz to the border triangle Perl / Schengen one speaks of the Obermosel.
When it comes to waves, the architecturally striking steel arch bridge recalls the Mosel, the "Harbor Bridge" in Sydney. It connects waves on the German Moselle side with the Luxembourg Grevenmacher.
Not far away from the waves lies the wine village Nittel, the largest wine-growing community in the Upper Moselle. The high dolomite and limestone rocks now dominate the landscape of the Upper Moselle for long stretches.
The bike path on the German Moselseite leads almost exclusively in the immediate vicinity along the Moselle.
Just as Nico Rauen has described: "It's really nice here"
With these words we say goodbye in the next video. Take care and stay healthy. Greetings from Germany Meggi and Wolfgang.
