The final part to our Grifter Restoration process - and this bike is a beauty!
All parts were manufactured by Raleigh in the Nottingham Factory not far from our shop.
The gearing system was by Sturmey Archer which was three speed in hub gears operated by
a new grip shifter unique to the Grifter.
These bikes were all rescue bikes bought for less than £50 and as you can see from the video they were not in a usable condition, their next journey was going to be to the skip.
It took longer to get the correct parts as they are quite rare now, that is why the last video took a while to come to fruition. We decided to do three different colours of the bike with different graphics.
Which one was your favourite? Don't forget to check out Part 1 & 2 of the renovation process.
Please feel free to leave a comment below and tell us of the old Raleigh memories you have.
Cheers Joe.
