Here is a quick rundown of the main beat played on Ramble On. The drum part doesn't have much variation, but it is another very unique beat , again tailored to the guitar and bass riff. Its very typical of the kind of beats he favored in the early Zep years, with lots of ghosting and an inverted type of turnaround in the main groove. It has a lot of ghosting in the snare pattern, which gives the beat a very groovy, cushion type feeling IMO. One thing I realized after I made the video...why would it have to be a drum seat that Bonzo played on for the acoustic passages?? Coulda been a chair, or any padded surface.
