This time, we're looking at sea bass catching baitfish in the inner Tokyo Bay in mid-February. The inner Tokyo Bay is still bitterly cold, but this is also the peak season for the river baitfish pattern. After sunset during the spring and middle tides, baitfish appear around high tide, and sea bass preying on them repeatedly boil and rise on the surface of the water. Baitfishing has been relatively easy to predict the timing and is considered easy even for beginners to master. However, with the recent sea bass fishing boom, the number of anglers has increased, and the easy pattern of baitfishing, coupled with human pressure and the sea bass's tendency to use lures, is now a thing of the past. It seems that it is by no means an easy pattern in modern times. However, this fishing trip reaffirmed that the catch can be made by small differences in position, lure reeling speed, how to hit the current, the angle of the boil shot, the lure's diving range, and the use of sinking and floating lures. I was able to catch a fish that was my personal best, and I would like to catch a meter-long sea bass in the inner Tokyo Bay someday!
