Spongebob Squarepants is currently on Season 15! Feel old yet? I certainly do! And what do old people do best? Talk about nostalgia and how things used to be! So I decided to go waaaaay back to Spongebob Season 1 and remind myself of the first words to ever leave their mouths! Yup, today we're taking a look at every SpongeBob character's first lines and analyzing exactly how fitting they are for the underwater folks that spoke em. We've got Frenchy (aka the French Narrator), Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr Krabs, Plankton, Pearl, Mrs Puff, Karen, Larry the Lobster and even Bubble Bass on the docket today and some of the rankings I put forth today might just surprise you! As always, comments are appreciated so feel free to tell me whose first lines are your favorites!
P.S - I keep forgetting how chill and laid back Spongebob Season 1 is. I dunno if it's the style, the music, the pacing or what but It just takes me back like no other first season of a show has ever been able to do.
P.S.S. - Help Wanted and Tea at the Treedome really are a perfect pair of starting episodes. ^^ They still make me laugh even to this day and we even get some character dynamics that don't get explored too often like Squidward and Mr Krabs. :)
P.S.S.S - I sais after my Plankton and Mr Krabs Friends AU and my Plankton the Movie review that I wanted to cover spongebob more so I figured what better place to start than the show's beginning? :) Don't worry, I'm not some kind of sponge tube boomer who only likes Season 1, Season 2 and Season 3. I like a lot of what I've seen of the show and I intend to talk about the whole thing! Including The Spongebob Squarepants Movie itself as well as the other films one day. Also, I'll likely cover The Spongebob Movie Search for Squarepants coming out in November.
P.S.S.S.S - Whether this video does well or not, it means I got to watch Help Wanted, Tea at the Treedome, Pickles, Ripped Pants, Squeaky Boots and Boating School again so win win I guess. X) Retro Nickelodeon will always be special to me. Also Mr Lawrence continues to be the goat with Plankton's first line. X) Sadly it's not I went to college but it's still good.
