So this is another of my rare videos of a train movement at various points along the little used Ludgershall Branch Line - filmed between Andover and Ludgershall. This time it’s The Solent Searcher Rail tour by UKRailTours and GB Rail Freight touring little used freight lines in the south of England not frequented by passenger trains. It also includes footage of the Rail Tour at the disused platform at Andover which hasn’t seen a passenger service in decades! The Ludgershall line used to be part of the Swindon, Marlborough and Andover railway formerly operated by the Midland and Southwestern Junction Railway. When the line was closed in the 60’s, just this short branch was left to service the MOD depot and Tidworth Garrison. It’s approximately 7 miles in length. On July 16th 2022, GBRF 66799 and 69004 takes an 11 coach train, full of paying public, down the line and manoeuvres around the sidings of the Army depot, returning to Andover for further sidings manoeuvres. Hope you enjoy and share
