Rasam is a traditional South Indian soup that is used as a side dish with rice in meals. Rasam is known with different names in South India e.g. Charu in Telugu, Saaru in Kannada, and Rasam in Tamil.
Rasam Ingredients -
0:30 - To Make Rasam / रसम बनाने के लिए
- 1 cup Tamarind Pulp / इमली का पल्प
- 1 Tomato (Diced) / टमाटर
- 1 cup of water / पानी
- 2 Green Chillies (chopped) / हरी मिर्च
- 1 tsp Black Peppercorns / काली मिर्च
- 1 inch Ginger / अदरक
- A sprig of Curry Leaves / करी पत्ता
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / जीरा
- Coriander Leaves (chopped) / धनिया पत्ती
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida / हींग
- 1 cup of water / पानी
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder / हल्दी पाउडर
- Salt / नमक
3:55 - To Make Tadka / तड़का बनाने के लिए
- 1 Tbsp Oil / तेल
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / राई
- 2 Dried Red Chillies / लाल मिर्च
- A sprig of curry leaves / करी पत्ता
- 2 tsp Rasam Powder / रसम पाउडर
- Coriander leaves (chopped) / धनिया पत्ती
