*Copyright DiscI've saved my favourite John Farnham performance for last in my 'John can sing bloody anything playlist' and this time, it's a musical theatre rock opera. This song is from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar, in which John plays the lead roll of Jesus. To set the scene, Jesus has just left the Last Supper where he predicted Judas would betray him. He goes to the Garden of Gethsemane to speak to God about his impending demise. I love this because it's vocally astonishing, covers more than the full tenor range in a vocal belt, and John's acting ability is on display as well (which we know you enjoyed with Olivia Newton John!). This one should really pull on the heart strings. Thanks for listening to my Farnham selection guys! I hope I convinced you that John can sing anything, from a rearranged Beatles' Help, to Led Zepplin's Black Dog, duet ballads, opera, soul, and now this to tie it all up.
