Welcome to Santorini. I had the pleasure to visit Santorini while on a cruise of the Mediterranean. It was only a day trip and had a few sights to see on the island. The island villages are built on steep slopes so be prepared for plenty of walking. There were plenty of other tourists and I was not keen on getting perfect insta worthy shots, this is the reality of visiting popular places. I was traveling light so only used a insta 360 and GoPro. I used a 9 foot extendable pole and shot the majority of the trip on the insta 360, therefore I could focus on enjoying the trip and not having to worry about getting the right shot as I could reframe and pick the view I wanted after when editing. It also provided the ability to get about the crowd of tourists to get some good shots. The best and most exciting part of the whole day was the donkey ride up to Fira, it took our friends almost 40 minutes longer standing in line for the gondola. Who would have thought it was going to be so chaotic. Now before you write negative comments about how cruel it was for the donkeys. I want to say our tour guide was a member of the council and she managed the permits for the donkeys on the island. She explained to us they are well cared for and are inspected daily. I believe it was more painful for us humans than the donkeys, the experience was worth it.
