Join me on another a another adventure across Tokyo, this time to RECOCO, a charming record-listening cafe in the backstreets of Shibuya. RECOCO offers a unique music-listening experience especially designed for those new to records. This unique cafe (and it's sister cafe RETOPO located just next door), established the kind and generous Atsuya Kawaura, was loosely based on the Korean record-listening cafes that became quite popular in the last couple of years. Opening just on year ago on December 15th, RECOCO has already become a super hit, so much so that Kawaura san already expanded into the bigger space next door. The cafe is staffed with friendly and helpful baristas who can, if needed, guide customers along who might be experiencing vinyl records for the first time! REOCO serves coffees and cake and are known for their absolutely adorable house specialty, the RECOCO Baumkuchen.
No matter if you're with friends checking out records for the first time, or need a nice music-friendly place to get some work done, or perhaps on the perfect date with a "lovely lovely", so long as you love whimsically fun "Only-in-Tokyo" kind of experiences, you'll find something at RECOCO.
