One mic. That’s all it takes. Sure, maybe you’ve got an interface with 8 preamps but you don’t have to use them all. In fact, adding more microphones can really add to the headache. We’ll experiment with five different placements for a single microphone to capture and reproduce different aspects of the drum set, all with raw audio - no EQ, compression, reverb, or other polishing.
