In part 1 of our breakdown callout heavy-duty mechanic, Cam was re-sealing the cylinder on the John Deere 200D hydraulic excavator. All part of a brilliant plan to use that excavator to help Cam and his apprentice recover a Hitachi 75 mini excavator with a thrown track.
The Hitachi had a little mini excavator fail on a vicious incline in the rough brush. As they inspect the machine, the heavy-duty mechanics discover the idler fell off, the spring tensioner is nowhere to be found and they’ve got to a race against sundown. Because the darker it gets, the more dangerous it becomes in this emergency service call.
