Zia Yusuf, the Chairman of Reform UK, joined Lewis Goodall in the LBC studio to discuss the party's policy platform.

Reform's leader, Nigel Farage, is working to establish the party's identity as a serious political force by backing policies such as abolishing the two-child benefit cap.

But this has drawn criticism from Reform's opponents, with the Prime Minister Keir Starmer dismissing the Party as having 'fantasy economics.'

Lewis Goodall wanted to put this to the test with Yusuf, asking questions on both domestic and international politics.

It was Reform's claim that a large sum of £7 billion could be saved from cutting DEI initiatives. Yusuf told Lewis the government has 'an agenda' to 'hide' the true costs of DEI spending.

Lewis responded that DEI spending in the UK ranks in the millions, not billions, and that Yusuf had 'made up' his figures.

Reform UK is set to send in its first Elon Musk-style Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) unit to look at "wasteful spending" in councils.

A team of software engineers, data analysts and forensic auditors will "visit and analyse" local authorities, starting with Kent County Council on Monday, the party said.

Kent County Council is one of the councils Reform UK took control of in May's local elections.

It follows the US Doge, which was launched during Donald Trump's presidency to cut federal spending. Billionaire Musk was involved but has since left his position spearheading the unit.

Reform says its UK version will be led by a yet-unnamed man described as one of the country's "leading tech entrepreneurs with a specialism in data analytics who has also been a turnaround CEO".
