全曲共九段，每段的題目分別是「夢思」、「夢歡」、「夢戀」、「驚夢」、「夢中掙扎」、「哀怨之夢」、「夢幻」、「夢醒時刻」，九段連續演奏。音樂的起伏相當大，九個夢境的描述從朦朦朧朧、竊竊私語、和風細雨，到掙扎扭曲、痛苦哀怨，再到波瀾壯闊、疾風驟雨，使聽眾在九個不同的夢境中展開充分的想像。

The whole piece consists of 9 sections. The titles of individual sections are Dream Thinking, Dream Joy, Dream Love, Startling in Dream, Struggling in Dream, Sadness of Dream, Dreamy, and A Wake-up Moment, which are played consecutively. The music has large ups and downs, with the nine dreams depicting drizzling, murmuring, gentle, struggling, grieving, and mighty scenes respectively. The audience can fully extend their imagination in the different dreams.
