Here is an easy way to remove a truck cab with just one person using an engine hoist or cherry picker. Before lifting you need to disconnect the following.
1. Brake Master Cylinder
2. Shift Linkage
3. Throttle Cable
4. Wiring Harness Connector
5. Heater Core Tubes
6. Cab Ground Cable
7. Temp Gauge Sensor
8. Oil Pressure Gauge Tube
9. 4 Bolts Connecting The Cab
10. Any other small wires and things on your firewall.
The truck here is an 86 chevy c10 with air ride that is a work in progress. This exact procedure would be very similar for most regular cab trucks, especially C10s. Do not place the beam on the doors because it might deform them. Place it on the upper door sills of the cab.
