Video Not Working? Fix It Now

If one cylinder rod to repair wasn't enough today we have THREE to be repaired! In this video we are repairing three dozer hydraulic cylinder rods, they all have damage to the chrome and so the rods need to be replaced. We have two Ripper Tilt cylinder rods for a D10R dozer and one Ripper Lift rod for a D6R dozer. This shows the step by step process to remove the eyes off the old cylinders, make the new rods and then tack and weld the eyes onto the new cylinder rods. First we use the lathe to machine the eye off the rod and then machine up the new cylinder rods using induction hardened chrome bar. We need to machine both ends of the cylinder rod, the first end we machine and cut the external thread to suit the piston & nut. We then machine a spigot on the other end of the rod to fit the eye and a taper for weld prep before fitting and tack welding the eye in position. The eye is welded on using dual shield wire. We finish the job by cleaning, wrapping and strapping the rods and send them back to the customer.

In this video we are using:
- TM-26120G Centre Lathe
- WIA 500i Weldmatic welder
- Weldmac WHP-2.5 Power tilt positioner
