In this video, I restore a Revue 400 L, a compact 35mm film camera from the 1970s! This camera, produced by Nittō Kōgaku for Foto-Quelle, features a 38mm f/2.8 lens, a zone focus system, and an automatic CdS metering system that selects shutter speeds from 1/30s to 1/650s and apertures between f/2.8 and f/14.
🔧 Restoration process:
✅ Exterior deep cleaning
✅ Light seals replaced for light-tight operation
✅ Removed top cover and reglued the viewfinder glass after breaking it (oops!)
✅ Cleaned internal components for a clearer viewfinder
✅ Added a stylish shoulder strap for a fresh look
✅ Installed a soft shutter release button for smoother operation
✅ Mounted a water level on the hot shoe for perfect framing
This camera runs on a single LR44 battery and has an ISO range of 25-400. With its built-in hot shoe, it also supports flash photography!
