Le Corbusier is an embodiment, almost a synonym of architecture. With big round glasses, stern outfits and bow-ties, his perfectly geometrical looks were a wisely constructed signature. All over the world, his renowned works became absolute icons, with prestigious achievements including the Villa Savoye, the Cite Radieuse (“Radiant City”) and the Ronchamps Chapel.
He was a builder, but also an unchallenged theorist : his numerous works deeply influenced generations of architects. Le Corbusier is also a great idealist who wanted to change the world with his architectural masterpieces. His life is the story of an incredible ambition, a very rational mind and a brilliant, uncompromising artist. He was indeed willing to demolish entire neighborhoods in Paris, for the sake of its inhabitants’ happiness.
