In this video we are going to walk through the process of modeling a water pump impeller using a scan as a reference. Note that the term Reverse Engineer is a bit off. In Plasticity we can't really pull measurements or data directly from the mesh, but we can snap to it. So when trying to recreate a part based on a mesh its important to have critical details measured with the appropriate tools. Such as knowing the overall height, OD, ID and any bolt/thread patterns.
For our example we have a sub-optimal sketch and want to make a new replacement part that is roughly the same. If you want to follow along I have inserted the design into a Fusion file. You can use this download link even if you don't have a Fusion account.
