There are still some people who use the Galaxy S6 and Note5 as their daily driver, particularly in developing countries, but in 2015, people raved the Samsung Galaxy S6 as one of the best phones in 2015, mostly due to the wireless charging, glass and metal design rather than polycarbonate plastic like seen in previous Samsung phones, and decent camera. Many of the S6 features still remain in today's atmosphere, with premium materials for flagship phones, non-removable batteries, and no micro-SD expansion. Even though this phone could only officially support Android 7.0, there are some unofficial LineageOS builds that could get the Samsung Galaxy S6 up to at least Android 11 (LineageOS 18.1). The Samsung Galaxy S6 was first unveiled at MWC 2015 at the Samsung unpacked event (1 March 2015) and was released to consumers on 10 April 2015. Ever since then, it has been praised as one of the best phones of 2015.
Now, despite the fact the Galaxy S6 is 10 years old, it is still very usable and could effectively function as a semi-modern phone, especially compared with the iPhone 2G in 2017 (when it turned 10 years old) when it could barely connect to the App Store or iTunes store.
This is amidst the return of the "Edge" moniker for the ultra slim S25 Edge (last seen on the S7 Edge).
