Kintetsu Ikoma Cable
The Kintetsu Ikoma Cable runs from Torii-mae adjacent to the station to the top of Mt. Ikoma with a cable line that extends about 2 km
It runs to Hozanji Temple and Ikoma Sanjo Amusement Park.
The Takarazanji line functions as a splendid commuter line, which is unusual for a cable car, because the area along the line is residential, with condominiums built as a bedroom community for the cities of Osaka and Nara. There are three level crossings along the line, one of which (Torii-mae No. 3 level crossing) allows cars to pass through.
Ikoma Mountain Amusement Park
The amusement park opened in 1929 around the summit of Mt. Ikoma at an elevation of 642 meters. It takes about 15 minutes from Ikoma Station to the summit by cable car.
There are many facilities that even small children can enjoy, including the oldest existing large-scale playground equipment in Japan, "Flight Tower (30m high)," a cycle monorail that offers a panoramic view of the Osaka Plain and Nara Basin, and a puka-puka panda.
