We check out a Kohler 5400 series engine on a Troy Bilt Bronco 42" riding mower that will not stay running, runs poorly or surges, runs rough then dies after running for a little while.
The mower would eventually shut down after 20 to 30 minutes
The customer said it takes about a half hour to start acting up but it took over an hour at idle to start showing some symptoms.
We go through the full troubleshooting with diagnostics and the common causes for an issue like this with full check of the engine.
