I had an older Ring doorbell (1st generation) and decided to upgrade to this one. Went from 720P with a scratched lens to 1080P and it made a big difference. I also got a wedge mount for mine so that I could see everything from the side. The Ring doorbell is pretty easy to set up and install - you do have to pay a monthly fee if you want to keep the recordings however.
