Touching on the mystery that is life, Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi’s images are both timeless and strangely emotional in a way that is hard to put your finger on. Following the unconscious motives that drive her passion for photography, her pictures display a dreamy, almost mystical sense of love and appreciation for the objects, places, and people that she photographs. In this video, Rinko Kawauchi was gracious enough to spare a few minutes of her valuable time to discuss the overall themes of her work and how the dialog with her unconscious lies at the heart of her creative endeavors.
