Better late than never I suppose haha. A couple weekends ago, my friends and I took a last minute trip to the Smoky Mountain Small Bore Rally in Townsend TN. Anything under 300cc was welcome so we decided to bring along the Honda Helix CN250 as well and the Honda Elite CH80. For those of you who do not know, the Honda Helix originally purchased from Copart as a salvage titled scooter. I then worked on the helix and got it legally reregistered and back on the road. My DIY scooter rebuild series on the channel covers all the steps I took to get it back on the road!
Townsend TN is a quiet little town up in the Rocky Mountains, but this weekend, it was filled with all sorts of scooters and bikes, and motorcycles! Honda Ruckus, Grom , Metroploitan , Elite , Yamaha Zuma s, etc. you name it , it was probably there! 250cc 150cc 125cc 80cc 50cc and more!
Fortunately, the weather held off Saturday and my buddies were able to ride up and down the tail of the dragon twice! The second trip was a group ride that took us through the foothills of Smoky Mountain National Park and through the Tail of the Dragon up to Killboys and Deals Gap. I've never leaned the Honda Helix over as much as I did this weekend but she handled it like a champ! I also got crispy burnt from riding all day (use sunscreen next time) haha.
All in all it was an absolutely great time! Great people, great food, great fun, and awesome builds! I cant wait till next year!!
