Rita Payés likes to break down barriers between classical music and fado, bolero or a simple lullaby. And how remarkable is it that she plays trombone? That lets her instrumental qualities and passionate voice blend seamlessly.
Rita Payés - Zang, trombone, Elisabeth Roma - Gitaar, Horacio Fumero - Bas, Pol Batlle - Guitar, Juan R. Berbín - Drums
Rita Payés Roma started as a trombonist in a family full of musicians. Years later she entered into the Sant Andreu Jazz Band where she also started singing with Andrea Motis, Magalí Datzira and Eva Fernandez. Her career continued outside of Catalan territory by the hand of Joan Chamorro, Ignasi Terraza, Josep Traver and Esteve Pi. With this quintet and other formations she has played in the most important European Jazz festivals.
She also followed her own path. Rita Payés is now a phenomenon on You Tube. She released her first successful album when she was 16 years old. On her latest album 'Como la Piel' she shows that she has also blossomed as a composer.
