"The Laxian Key" is a sci-fi comedy series based on the short stories of Robert Sheckley, an American author known for his satirical and humorous take on science fiction. The series, set in the year 2150, follows Arnold and Gregor, who run a planetary decontamination firm called AAA Ace Eco-Friendly Interplanetary Decontamination. Their job is to cleanse polluted planets, making them habitable for humans.
The story kicks off with a job on Planet Party, infamous for causing several deaths upon landing. The planet offers a large cash prize for its cleanup, attracting Arnold and Gregor. However, their mission goes awry when they come across an alien music box containing a strange liquid that dissolves anything it touches. This liquid accidentally gets out, leading to the catastrophic melting of London and eventually the entire Earth.
As chaos ensues, Arnold and Gregor learn that the only way to halt the destruction is by finding something referred to as "The Laxian Key." The series charts their frantic quest for this mysterious item and their attempts to remedy the disaster they inadvertently caused. This blend of science fiction and comedy brings a unique flavor to the catastrophic narrative, emphasizing humor and absurdity in the face of apocalyptic scenarios.
