That was the product of John Deacon and David Bowie. He wrote and composed many of Queen’s best and biggest songs. He was one of the quietest members of the band off-stage, so he didn’t always get the credit for his contributions. Freddie Mercury held him up emotionally. They were best friends, and losing him was a major catastrophe.
John felt that no one could ever replace Freddie. He was listless at his last few performances before hanging up his bass forever. He now lives a solitary life in England. He’s rarely seen by anyone except his family. Queen has managed to overcome its struggles. They’re back and bigger than ever with a new frontman, Adam Lambert. They’re entertaining a new generation of fans with a new tour.
They haven’t forgotten John since reforming. He still helps them with the financial aspects of running a successful rock band.
That doesn’t mean they think he would be ready to go back into the limelight. They’ve asked him to be part of Queen again before, but he’s declined. They’re also not sure if he’d be mentally prepared for all the changes in the music industry. He’s a bit fragile and isn’t ready for the heat of the limelight.
They respect him as a person, but are they still friends? When was the last time they were in touch or hung out offstage?
