There is happiness of course, but cricket is a team game, so in this tournament everyone contributed to the solution to this. Whoever played in this tournament, and everyone contributed, how big is the solution?
[Rohit Sharma:]
Look, If you want to win a tournament, it is important to contribute to the team. There are some matches where you win on individual brilliance. But to win a tournament, it's very important for all the players to perform together. So, in this tournament, we saw that from the first match till now, all the players have contributed. If you look at the players from No. 1 to No. 11, the boys who have had the opportunity to bat or bowl, they have contributed in their own way. So eventually, when you all play together, and a lot of people contribute together, you get a lot of success consistently. When you play together and you get a lot of people's contribution, you consistently get success. I think we saw in the tournament that the people who got the ball played their role. The players who got the opportunity to bat, they won the game by batting. We didn't see that only one player is making runs in the tournament. People made their small contributions. We knew that wickets are a bit challenging here. It won't be easy for everyone. So, it is very important to make contributions from top to bottom. Which we did very well.

There was a lot of talk during the tournament about K.L Rahul's batting position. Do you feel that in the last two matches he vindicated that position, he kept his cool and just anchored the innings?
[Rohit Sharma:]
Yeah, look, when we discussed about K.L's batting position, that is one thing we discussed quite deeply about how calm he is when he is batting. The pressure doesn't get to him with that calmness, we wanted that calmness in the middle somewhere. And also, we wanted to use a left-hander in the middle. So that actually worked out in both ways for us. KL obviously has been doing a lot of challenging work for the team for so many years now. And I'm very, very happy with how he managed to pull this tournament and batted in the pressure situation, both in semifinals and this game as well. The contribution may not be 70-80, but those 30-40s are a very, very important one. When you're chasing, run the ball at the back end, it can get tough. It can get difficult. But with KL being there, we know that he's got that mind where he keeps himself calm and keeps the dressing room also very calm so I'm very happy with how he you know managed in this tournament and really happy for you know the contributions that he made for the team.

In 2024 in the finals Virat scored 76 and today you also scored 76. The start of the tournament has been very quiet, as you set the standard high. When you play a knock in a big game, how much satisfaction did you get? And personally, when you were hitting sixes, you looked very angry. Your game face was on. So, talk about your knock.
[Rohit Sharma:]
No, look Even today I have not done anything different; I have been doing the same thing that I'm doing over the past 3 – 4 matches. I know how very important it is to score runs in the power play, because we saw in not only 1 or 2 games, but all five games, after 10 overs it becomes very difficult when the field spreads and spinners come. It becomes a little tough because the pitch is already slow. And we're doing second batting. It's already slow. It's very important for you to take chances. And I don't think that I will bat like this, or that I will play like that. I see the bowler and think of where I can charge him, where I can play the shot. I think about all this before I go. And you may not see the consistency of big runs, but if I'm very clear in my mind about what I have to do - then as long as I am very clear, I think it is pretty much okay. Today you saw that after 10 overs I changed my game a little. I wanted to play longer. But I went to put a bit of pressure and I got out.
