With the Forester now mechanically refreshed, lifted and sounding great, the bodywork has become its weakest asset, and it needs repainting. The aftermath of my primer-grey experiment a couple years ago has come back to haunt me in the form of a surface finish that would typically need sanding back to bare metal for a good result. Luckily, Raptor Liner exists, and its thick, textured finish simply doesn't care if there's imperfections on the panels underneath. Normally applied with a spray gun in a booth, I decided to try a more DIY approach and apply it by hand in my garage with nothing but a paint roller... it took a while.
