From early to mid December 2024, my colleague Professor Renee Kohler-Ryan and I led a pilgrimage course to Rome with students from The University of Notre Dame, Australia. This is one of the CORE courses run by the School of Philosophy and Theology (CORE3001). In my spare time I was able to do some vlogging. Here is my short guided tour of the Roman Forum, the heart of the ancient city, with its monuments, temples, and churches.
Chapter four (pages 60-91) of my book 'From the Ancient Near East to Christian Byzantium: Kings, Symbols, and Cities (Newcastle upon Tyne: Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2021) addresses the Roman Forum at length from pages 60-74.
