One part I didn’t talk about is the temperature of the room. Heat mats are not necessary and can actually make your cutting medium too warm when you’re rooting, but an ambient room temperature of 65-75 degrees is needed for best results. I use a greenhouse heater in my barn room that keep the temperature consistent. I also keep the lights on for 16 hours a day when I’m rooting the dahlias.
