Have You Ever Seen Track This Steep? This Locomotive Is Working Hard To Shove Boxcars Up A Steep Tight Curve. Then We See It Fighting Gravity Pulling Cars Up The Hill At A 3 Track Railroad Crossing! This is industrial railroad switching on a Norfolk Southern Class 1 Railroad in Kentucky. Norfolk Southern is working this industrial spur that serves at least 5 customers. The mainline railroad is at the top of the grade on the north end of the railroad shoo-fly that I have been documenting. The switch for the industrial spur is right there at the northern end of the shoofly and the track runs downhill all the way to the last customer at the east end of the line. Several sidings for customers have steep upgrade sloping tracks as you can see in this video. Notice the railroad crossing in this video that has 3 tracks but the sign says 2 tracks. Lol.
