Welcome to the Engethink channel! In today’s video, the presentation is the eBike LCD displays, focusing on the model S866. This display is commonly used across various eBike brands and models.
The trough the essential wiring connections you need to know before purchasing one. Understanding these connections can make a big difference in your installation process.
We’ll start by examining the documentation that comes with the S866 display, which includes crucial information about parameters, button functions, and connector wiring. You’ll learn about the two types of connectors: the rounded connector for better insulation against dust and water, and the rectangular connector I’ve chosen. Regardless of the connector type, the wiring remains consistent.
I'll guide you through the five essential wires used to connect the display to the controller:
Red: VCC (controller power line)
Blue: Supply for instruments
Black: GND (negative of the power supply)
Green: RX (receiver data from the controller)
Yellow: TX (transmitter data to the controller)
With compatibility for DC voltages of 24V, 36V, 48V, and 60V, I’ll demonstrate powering the display using an adjustable USB power supply starting at 24V DC.
Watch as I power up the LCD display and explore its features, including:
Adjusting motor assistance with the + and - buttons
Viewing speed in MPH or KMP
Checking battery level and odometer readings
Accessing additional data like trip distance, battery voltage, and more.
