Sadie Engelhardt, a senior at Ventura High in California, won the Bill Buettner girls championship race at the 45th ASICS Clovis Invitational by producing the fastest all-time 5-kilometer effort by a high school female athlete at Woodward Park with her 16:24.2 performance in Fresno, Calif. Engelhardt eclipsed the 2017 Woodward Park record of 16:30.3 established by Claudia Lane of Malibu High in California, contributing to Ventura finishing fourth as a team with 153 points, despite racing without senior Melanie True in the Cougars' lineup.
