Rebecca Childress and Michael Hayward set sail for a 700 mile ocean passage between St Helena Island and Ascension Island, spend a week at anchor there, and then prepare to sail across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean. They have no relationship issues between the two ocean islands, primarily because there is no way out from Ascension Island, and enjoy the island. Both parties MUST get along well, and keep themselves, eachother and the boat safe in order to keep sailing around the world! We take a tour of the island, and do some hiking on Green Mountain while learning a little bit about the flora and fauna, and the history of Ascension Island. The safety is concluded with a Vaccination while we are there. Then we head out to sea for a 25 + day passage across the Atantic.
Rebecca will be looking for crew from Greneda in the Caribbean starting in November, to help her complete her circumnavigation. She has been sailing around the world for nearly 15 years now, and she will sail cross her outbound tracks in the Bahamas or anywhere on the east coast of the USA. Crew should be experienced ocean sailors, be ready to share all expenses, and be prepared to get themselves to and from the boat. THE Itinerary will be Caribbean for a few months, navigate northward and then up the east coast of the USA where the boat will remain until Rebecca determines her next move, where she will sail...where she will travel.
