Saints Row 4 is a big departure for a series about gangsters and guns. It's also an insult to classic Saints Row fans everywhere (Saints Row 4 Review)
Saints Row 4 introduces a superhero sci-fi premise to a franchise firmly rooted in the urban sandbox genre. And while there is some shortlived fun, re-used assetts, padding, and bland game mechanics ruin the game the further we go. At best Saints Row 4 is an experiment with average results. At worst it's an insult to fans of Saints Row everywhere.
Throughout this Saints Row 4 review I'll explain why I think Saints Row 4 is a disaster, by examining how Volition cut corners and re-used content we'd already paid for and didn't add enough new features to make Saints Row 4 worth it. These ideas could have worked as a shorter piece of DLC or as a spin-off title, but it's it's current state, Saints Row 4 is a disaster.
