Loving Sairam from Brindavan. We are honoured to welcome Sri. Shankara Ramamurthy as our speaker for the 161st edition of Samarpan at Brindavan, that also happens to be on the holy Avatar Declaration Day of our beloved Swami. Sri. Shankara hails from Mysuru and was brought to Swami’s fold by his parents in 1946 when he was one year old. Swami performed his Upanayanam in 1962. Bhagawan also blessed him with Mantropadesham and advised him to follow the Upanishad Vakya, “Na Karmana Na Prajaya Dhanena, Tyaagenaike Amrutatvamanashuhu”. Swami directed Sri. Shankara to pursue Mechanical Engineering, after which he graduated from the University of Mysuru. He received a Gold Medal from the All India Council of Technical Education. Subsequently, he joined the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysuru, where he led the R&D Department for over 33 years. With Swami’s consent, he took voluntary retirement as the Deputy Director of CFTRI to serve in Sri Sathya Sai Publications Society, Karnataka. As the Co-Ordinator for the publications committee of the Society, he has been responsible for translating and publishing over 108 books in Kannada between 2000 and 2015 and continues to be a member of the committee. He also serves currently in the Kannada Sanathana Sarathi team. Sri. Shankara was instrumental in revealing the wonderful journey of his mother, Smt. Kannamma, with Swami, in the form of the book ‘Sri Sathya Sai Anandadayi - Journey with Sai’ in Kannada, English, Telugu, and other languages. #SriSathyaSai #SAMARPAN #Brindavan #SaiStudents
