Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Potts talk to “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi about “The Piano Lesson,” their new film adaptation of the August Wilson play. The movie is produced by Denzel Washington, directed and co-written by his son Malcom Washington, and stars his other son John David Washington. Samuel reflected on watching Denzel’s sons grow up and turn out to be artists, insisting they’ve worked hard and are not just “nepo kids.” Both Samuel and Michael also spoke about the differences between doing a play and a movie, as well as the long tradition and art of storytelling. “The Piano Lesson” is in select theaters in the United States on November 8 and streaming on Netflix November 22.
