At some point you’ve probably been told to open your clubface in the sand bunker. But what if I told you that’s NOT necessary? In this video, I’m going to show you how to escape the bunker every time without opening the face or changing your swing.
To demonstrate, I’ll start with one of my favorite trick shots—hitting two golf balls out of the bunker with one swing using a square clubface. Then, I’ll break down the simple setup adjustments that allow you to get out of the sand with ease as well as how control your distance to get the ball closer to the hole.
I’ll also cover when and when NOT to open the clubface. While opening the face can be helpful, if your skills aren’t ready it can lead to thinned shots, chunked shots, or total disaster.
By the end of this lesson, you’ll feel confident, in control, and never intimidated by bunkers again.
