Few little ships have earned a place in history as distinguished as "Sundowner". In a quiet boatyard on the River Thames, an aging legend rests. Beneath the peeling paint and weathered timbers lie stories of espionage, heroism, and tragedy - adventures as extraordinary as the sea itself.
This is the story of the yacht "Sundowner", which belonged to Titanic's former Second Officer, Charles Lightoller. Originally a steam pinnace for the Royal Navy during the First World War, Lightoller converted it to a pleasure yacht in the 1930's. When World War Two broke out, Lightoller and "Sundowner" saw action in both espionage and all-out conflict, with the most thrilling adventure being when Lightoller and his son participated in the evacuations of Dunkirk in 1940.
All animations made in this documentary were made in-house and animated by hand (not AI!) in Unreal Engine 5. They are copyright HFX Studios and cannot be reused without permission.
