Functional programming concepts are becoming more and more prevalent for developers. But getting started with these languages can be pretty daunting. In this talk Craig Maloney will discuss is recent fascination with learning Scheme, a LISP language designed for learning. We'll start with a simple tutorial of Scheme and show how a few simple commands and concepts can lead to more powerful programs. We'll also talk about how to set up your own Scheme environment using the FSF's Guile environment and the Racket variant of Scheme.
