Whilst Ivan was enjoying sunshine down in NZ, John was getting on with the Sebring Sprite.
This week Ivan and John started dismantling two A series 950 engines and evaluating the engine options for the Sprite. The engine that came in the car appears to be a Formula Junior engine. According to paperwork that came with the car, this engine belonged to a friend of the owner and was at one stage in the Ford works in Boreham, possibly for research purposes.
Ivan unearthed another A series 950 engine, possibly a Morris Minor one.
Anyway Ivan and John have a lovely time checking out both engines and determining which might be good to fit with low compression pistons and a Shorrock Supercharger. We know the Sprite had a Shorrock supercharger fitted when new.
Plus Ivan admits to extracting his own molar with a pair of circlip pliers .
