We got second-hand scammed on Amazon. This is more common than it probably should be and similarly mirrors our Newegg "new-in-box" RMA item incident, with one major, important difference: Thus far, Amazon has always just refunded us when it happens and without question. This is an instance where we think it's a "second-hand scam," meaning that a customer appears to have scammed Amazon, the retailer, on the return, and then we got hit secondarily as the item was repackaged and sold as new, despite being open box. The box even had a flag on it noting improper weight.
