Planet: Kheled-4

I have seen megastructures before. Orbital platforms, ancient satellites drifting through the void, even the broken remains of Dyson constructs. But never something like this.
The structure in front of me is immense—at least three kilometers in diameter—its golden surface radiating a soft, pulsing light. It is embedded in the ice, as though it has been here for millennia, perhaps eons. And yet, it is not dead. The patterns shift, moving like veins beneath the surface of a great sleeping beast.
The gravity here is slightly heavier than Earth’s, making each step deliberate. The cold is unlike anything I have experienced; even through my thermal suit, it seeps into my bones. The ice beneath my feet creaks with each movement, reminding me that I stand on an uncertain foundation.
The air is breathable, but thin—an eerie stillness hangs over this place, interrupted only by the soft hum that emanates from the structure. Not a sound produced by wind or shifting ice, but something… calculated.
My equipment struggles to analyze the material. It is not any known alloy, nor does it resemble the composites used in precursor ruins. More disturbingly, it reacts to my presence—subtle shifts in the glow when I move closer, as if acknowledging me. Or testing me.
The ship’s long-range sensors picked up no signs of life, but I am not convinced I am alone. I keep thinking I see movement at the edges of my vision. Shadows where there should be none. A whisper through the comms, though I know no one is on the other end.
I should leave. Every rational thought tells me to return to the ship, to report this and wait for a full expedition team. But there is something about this place. A presence. A purpose.
And a question that refuses to let me turn away:
Who built this? And are they still watching?
End of entry.
